Rowan Tree Retreat is a secluded self-catering cottage, situated in the heart of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Our luxury dog-friendly accommodation with hot tub is ideal for those who are looking to relax and unwind in the most stunning countryside setting.

We (Audrey and husband) moved to the Forest of Dean at the end of 2019. We were seeking a major lifestyle change and relished the idea of owning and running our own holiday let. For many years, we frequently visited the Forest of Dean, but we didn’t actually realise that a large portion of this beautiful area sits within the Wye Valley AONB! So, when we found this semi-rural forest cottage nestled on the borders of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, with walks straight into the Forest of Dean and the river Wye, we knew this was the place for us.

I don’t know about you, but when we go on holiday, we like to really relax. That’s why our beautiful lodge features a luxury hot tub; allowing you to truly unwind under clear starry skies, at the end of a long day exploring the sights and sounds of the Wye Valley. As owners of a gorgeous Miniature Goldendoodle named Sammy and Teddy a cavapoo/toy poodle mix, it was especially important to us that we could offer a luxury accommodation that was still dog friendly. Many holiday lets are simply dog-tolerant, but we were determined to treat our guest’s pets as part of the family!
